It is always amazing what talent and tons of hard work can deliver.

Flaxseed!

The flax seed post was supposed to be here, but I messed it up.  Anyone  know how to move a post from one blog to another?

Flax seed is often eaten with cereal, yogurt or fruit.

It is SO healthy!

Boehner Fails Republicans

Speaker of the House John Boehner has once again followed the sick path of the GOP establishment. I am talking about those old-timers who are only their for their benefit and refuse to make a stand against the democrats for what is right.  Think RINO (Republican in name only).  Think about politicians more concerned with their own ease and pocketbook.

Boehner caved to the democrats on not raising taxes by preventing a payroll tax increase.  Rather than maintain the current tax status for at least a year, Boehner caved to the democratic plan of doing it for two months.  Procrastination certainly can be more fun than doing your job, but in this case it was an absolutely stupid decisions.  John Boehner stupid?

It will take until the end of January for our wonderful politicians to even get serious about going to work.  Then, tell me, what is going to change by the end of February?  Probably nothing.

Make a note of it - Boehner has to be thrown out of the Speaker's position!

Idiots From the Left

Can you imagine the U.S. involving a butt-wipe like John Kerry in international matters?  For some reason he is over in Egypt meeting with the Muslim Brotherhood (spelled U.S.-hating terrorist organization).  Why would that kind of non-sense be allowed?  Maybe because we certainly could not send the president.  obama would have turned over our country and admitted defeat!

Speaking of obama, apparently his recent speech in Kansas was a kick-off campaign speech.  But, don't be looking for 'hope and change' - it is gone. obama had originally claimed that the country was a mess and this his 'hope and change' was going to improve the country.  obama has been if office for three years, and if anything, things are worse.  He cannot run on accomplishments.  He cannot run on obamacare because most Americans know that is wrong and he cannot run on 'hope and change'.  That only leaves a campaign of negatives - criticizing President Bush, Congress and the people.  Obama is a loser, and likewise the people that put him in office!

The Mind of an Eleven Year Old

Maybe you can remember back when you were 11 years old.  If you were willing to make a little effort, your young and agile mind could do amazing things with memorization.  More important than the amazing job this boy does, is the message that he delivers.  In a straight-forward, non-theological way he shows how tremendous Jesus Christ is, and how we can see His many facets througout the entire Bible.

Enjoy the majesty of Jesus Christ - take it to heart!

Whack Job

By the way, what is a whack job?

To start with, that person is a nut or a crazy person.  They act like a lunatic and you are almost certain they have lost their mind.  My recommendation is that you make every effort to avoid such people.  There is some evidence that 'whack job fever' is contagious.

I have included some pictures (Pelosi, Obama doing crack and Jane Fonda).  You could not find finer examples!

Queen On The Rocks?

As some European countries go bankrupt and others struggle to keep their ship afloat, new legislation in England is going to put the Queen on a fixed budget, and actually a decreasing budget.  The law actually changes the formula by which her budget has been determined.  It appears that she may be reduced to holding bake sales on weekends.

The good news is that she will now qualify for American food stamps.  She need only ask (if she can!).  Must be really tough for her to understand why the people cannot just give her more of their income.

The keeper of the privy purse, Sir Alan Reid, is convinced that this cut in funding will make it very difficult for the Royal Household to maintain their list of activities in support of the Queen and her estate.  I wonder if Sir Alan Reid is getting some coaching from Congress.  I hear the same tone in the whining.  One of their core beliefs is that what they do is so important that certainly no one could ask them to cut back and make do.  Even the budget Super Committee could not cut a buck out of the budge in the U.S.  Bear in mind that the environmental whack job Prince Charles will be of no use in times like these.  Almost seems like the Royal Household may be going the way of unions.

You can read more here, but I think the bunch of them are just silly.  If England is anything like America, 95% of the population probably no longer appreciates the Queen, especially with the high percentage of Muslim immigrants.

Ginger White: Slut or Just a Bitch?

Ginger White Claims Revenge!

Who does she think she is?  What kind of sick revenge is this that she has inflicted on Herman Cain?  Did she do it for money, or was it just hatred?

If Herman Cain is so terrible, then I would assume she is going to return the money that he had paid her over all those years.  If she has any integrity at all, she would have to do that.  There is obviously no gratitude on her part.

She has alleged that there was an ongoing fair.  Most people would assume that the fair includes a sexual relationship.  Herman Cain has not admitted that, so I will not claim it to be true.  But I will say this - if it is true then Ginger White is a slut, messing around with a married man.  If there was an affair, then she shares equal responsibility and maybe more.  Was she using both Herman Cain's money and body to satiate her selfish desires.

Now justice requires that she have someone or something come and destroy her life's goal, just like she did to Herman Cain.  Hopefully, when that happens, it makes the news.

Your Job Search on the Internet

If you are looking for a job these days, you are probably using the many resources on the Internet.  This approach can certainly point you to many more leads than you would ever find in the local newspaper.  See this article if you are in this game.

Here is an important tidbit to keep in mind:  No matter how good the Internet resources are, and no matter how many jobs you have been able to apply for and how many emails you have sent - landing a job may still require a personal contact.  When you put your name in for a job, keep your eyes open for a contact and phone number.  It is really good to be able to follow up on a resume (especially one that appears to be ignored) with a phone call.

Wish you the best in your job search.

Missing CD - In Zanesville

In Zanesville
by Jo Ann Beard

There are of course different writing styles an author can use for a novel.  People have their favorites and sometimes one style will satisfy more than another.  "In Zanesville"  is the story of a family as seen through the eyes of a 14 year old girl.  Now I have read books like this before and they generally do keep my interest, just because people are all different and it is amazing to look into others lives.

On the other hand, this book had no real plot or purpose to carry the reader along.  Rather, it is the timeline of life that carries the reader along - going from day to day, from one life incident to the next.  Since there is no definite story to complete by the end of the book, one wonders how the book will end.  (Keep wondering!)  Certainly no offense intended for the author. I am certainly not educated enough to be a literary critic.

I write this perspective after the fact, so let me tell you what happened.  When I started the seventh and last CD, I discovered that I had heard it before.  The seventh CD, although labelled correctly, was actually a duplicate of the fifth CD.  Ordinarily this would have bothered me, but in this case, I was content to let the story end there and was not overly concerned with the contents of CD 7.  This attitude kind of surprised me.  With many other books there is still a lot of plot to resolve on the last CD and you would be scrambling hard to find another copy.

Oh well, just an observation.

Not those cowboys!

Not those cowboys, the other ones!  Recently, I discovered that I had mixed up my cowboys!  What in the world am I talking about?   Author Linda Lael Miller writes about cowboys in a number of her books.  I was reading 'Garrett'.  I had already read the books on his brothers - Tate and Austin, but it had been awhile.  As I was hearing about the McKettrick family in Garret's story I was trying to put together what I was hearing with what I was remembering, and somethings just did not fit.  Had Miller really changed some of the family history and character descriptions from book to book?

Turns out that I was confused.  Linda Lael Miller wrote another series about three cowboy brothers, named the Creeds - Logan, Dylan and Tyler.  There are plenty of similarities between the McKettrick's and the Creed's and it is not hard to mix some of the details up, especially if your memory is not as good as it used to be.  Just the same, Linda Lael Miller is an author of the quality that could pull this off and keep every one of the six books interesting.  There are more than three books in each of the series, so you best get started.

McKettricks of Texas - Garrett

Garrett - McKettricks of Texas

by Linda Lael Miller

If you have ever read books by this author, you have probably experience how well she can write about people and relationships, about cowboys and careers, about men and women - all the way from dislike and awkwardness to passionate romance.  This books will not disappoint and I do recommend it.  Miller knows how to make the characters live a real life and you will not want the book to end.

Garrett is a man of fast politics, fast women and fast cars.  But not for long.  His life is suddenly changed and he lands in the arms of school teacher and single mom, Julie.

Tea Party Knows the Status Quo is No Longer Sustainable

One of the reasons there is a TEA party is because there are people willing to speak the truth about obama and the democrats, even if it is not politically correct to do so.  Some of the establishment Republicans are not much better.  Rush Limbaugh captures nicely the cancer that is obama, and to think obama is the president?

Obama is:
  • taking money out of Medicare to spend on obamacare
  • destroying jobs
  • destroying home ownership
  • destroying the value of pensions and investments
  • driving healthcare costs out of control (this will be more evident in a year or two)
There is little evidence that this keeps obama up at night.  More likely, it is what pleases the African socialist.

One Summer

One Summer
by David Baldacci

This is a well-written book with a powerful story.  A father is given a second chance to be a good father to his children, even though there are regrets from the past.  He sees this new opportunity, reaches for it, fumbles it and then manages to recover and succeed.  What a good reminder for fathers everywhere about their duty to truly love their children and be investing into their lives.

Makes me want to read another book by David Baldacci.

The following is from the book cover:

"It's almost Christmas, but there is no joy in the house of terminally ill Jack and his family.  With only a short time left to live, he spends his last days preparing to say good-bye to his devoted wife, Lizzie, and their three children.  Then, unthinkably, tragedy strikes again.  Lizzie is killed in a car accident.  With no one able to care for them, the children are separated from one another and went to live with family members around the country.

Just when all seems lost, Jack begins to recover in a miraculous turn of events.  He rises from what should have been his deathbed, determined to bring his fractured family back together.  Struggling to rebuild their lives after Lizzie's death, he reunites everyone at Lizzie's childhood home on the ocean front in South Carolina.  And there, over one unforgettable summer, Jack begins to learn to love again, and he and his children learn how to become a family once more."
